YT-Pings

YouTube notifications, delivered where you actually look.

In one sentence

YouTube's own notifications are unreliable and built to pull you back into the feed. People who follow channels for work miss the videos that matter and lose an hour to the ones that don't.

The problem

A YouTube subscription used to mean you were told about new videos. Now it means the algorithm might show you one, in a feed designed to keep you scrolling. For people who follow channels for work, that is a real cost: a missed release note, a missed talk, or an hour lost to recommendations.

How it works

YT-Pings watches the channels you choose using YouTube’s public feeds and push notifications, then delivers each new video where you already look: your inbox, a Telegram chat, a Slack channel. An AI summary tells you what the video covers so you can decide in ten seconds whether it is worth your time. Filters remove Shorts and noise, and digests batch everything into one message a day or a week.

It runs without a YouTube login, so there is nothing to connect and nothing to track.

Where it is today

YT-Pings is live with a free tier and paid plans for heavier use. It is built and run by DataMinds, and it doubles as our test bed for notification pipelines and LLM summarisation at scale.
